Am I being mean?

In what sense? Being a female who has to endure bullshit from men, white collar men. Corporate people who think they’re above blue collar people pisses me off. Convention centres not wanting to see people who maintain their space. That is the wildest thing I’ve ever heard. Ok fine, you can drown in sewage if you want. No need to call your maintenance crew. LOL. Need help with your A/V? Nah! No need for your maintenance crew for that. Can’t see them in your peripheral vision. We’ll just come up with stupid ideas like cover a gas meter with a box… because we’re so smart!

Now I’m not saying all executives are like this but seeing how they are not in touch with this world and think they deserve a fat income than giving their workers a liveable wage when they are performing well and bringing great ideas to the organization and actually caring about them… shows how disconnected they are. The second you shut down changes and ideas… is when you perpetuate a garbage environment where you surround yourself with yes people.

Do I have any hate towards our past superintendents? No. They were set up to fail. I do worry about our current superintendent because he does truly care and listen. I am angry at management – their supervisors and executives who think it’s not necessary to do any sort of maintenance. I truly doubt they and many other landlords know how to operate a building, or what it takes to do so. I think 99% of landlords are in it for the money rather than actually providing a service that is top notch. You would have to prove me otherwise. I think landlords also increased rent waaaaay too much to what they are actually providing. Many residences are not properly maintained, many do not know what to do. They have speculated way too much on this housing market. An apartment in Chatham should not be increased to $2,500 if people were paying $500. Reno-victions are dumb. Claiming you have to remove asbestos is bullshit. If the asbestos containing material is in good condition (pipe is not crumbling), you don’t have to abate it. If you have vinyl floor tiles (typically 1×1)…. those are not a hazard unless you put a grinder to it. Vinyl floor tiles will not create a powder unless you break it apart.

Am I being mean to our career politicians and execs? Nah – it’s how a drag queen would talk. Are there any facts that are incorrect? I’ve seen items done where they do not care. Are egos being hurt? I’ve had men speak to me in a harder way. Why should these politicians and execs feel hurt? Women go through a lot of crap. BIPOC go through a lot of crap.

Who is likely to make less in compensation?

• People of Colour
• LGBTQ+

Women who are BIPOC + LGBTQ+ are likely to get the double whammy of being underpaid. We can talk about equal pay but how many employers are ready to show their stats on men vs women + BIPOC + LGBTQ+? How many employers are ready to be transparent? Afraid of an uproar at work? If you can’t address that you have some reflecting to do.

How many women are treated differently in society and work? I hated dealing with stupid huge egos involving men who overcompensated. Or SA’d you and thought it was ok.

I may be mean but that is a result of how the world has treated me. If they cannot handle it… again some time reflection as to what women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ people go through. I’m not a BIPOC, but there are parallels with what we go through. When people steal your projects and think it’s cool to use ’em as their own. Give credit where it is due.

Reflecting on how we design our world – designers are very ableist. They don’t really think about intuitiveness. I have no idea who makes these ideas… but it’s like Doug Ford slapping a runway onto Billy Bishop Airport without thought of what all the 100+ factors are that need to be considered before this could be even a successful project… if even feasible. But maybe that’s how he thought the same with Connie Dejak’s idea being super smart as she spends this money with nothing to show for. Prime example why we need a SME as a Minister of Health who can create a plan that considers the next 20-100 years… rather than sprinkling some money here and there thinking they know what they’re doing. They need define the structure of hospitals… who manages them…. not career CEOs with no experience in healthcare. Same applies for Education, Environmental, Labour, Transportation, etc. These stakeholders also need to work together because of how interconnected they are.

A plan needs to be put together and the citizens vote on it… not an MPP who has party ideology loyalty that will screw it over. This is what keeps stalling progress and screwing over our livelihoods.

I will say… cycling through Toronto makes me worry I will wipe out because of the pot holes. Makes me wonder what the Ministry of Transportation is doing to provide funding on maintaining our roads. I don’t think I’ve seen shit roads like that in Mississauga other than QEW. Yes, some portions of Southdown and Hurontario but Lakeshore from my recollection has not been that bad.

I will emphasize here – I am angry about housing, education, labour and healthcare. Housing has been such an annoying issue for me and our politicians don’t care to listen. They don’t care that younger generations can purchase anything. They don’t care that we have slumlords. They don’t care that the quality of housing has fallen off. They don’t care that we’re losing our historical buildings. Someone somewhere has a friend that’s a developer and is making bank. They don’t care that 85% of a building are owned by foreign investors…. and this is back in ~2016. They don’t care that people can’t rent at an affordable price. They don’t care that people are becoming homeless. They don’t care that people are struggling with their mental health. They don’t care. They don’t care that making changes to OSAP is further perpetuating systemic racism. They don’t care that kids are in schools that are underfunded and falling apart. They don’t care that H&S legislation has been stagnant for decades. They don’t care whatsoever about healthcare… that front line staff are stretched thin and at risk of collisions heading back home because they are tired from doing overtime. THEY DO NOT CARE. SO I WILL BE MEAN TO GET THEIR ATTENTION AND HURT THEIR FEELINGS. THEIR FEELINGS DESERVE TO BE HURT. IF THEIR FEEWINGS HAVE BEEN HURT… THE THEREFORE TRUTH HURTS.
